The Hillgrove Hawks grabbed an early lead on its way to a 6-3 victory over North Paulding on Thursday. The Hawks scored on a walk by Mason Curtis in the first inning, a single by Reid Brown in the first inning, a sacrifice fly by Wade Richardson in the second inning, and a single by Deion Walker in the second inning.
After North Paulding tied the game in the top of the 2nd, the Hawks pulled away for good with two runs in the second inning on Richardson’s sac fly and a single by Deion Walker.
Fred Wilson got the win for the Hawks. He allowed three hits and one run over four and two-thirds innings, striking out two. Brennan Richardson threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen recording last three outs to earn the save.
The Hawks were led offensively by Ethan Wright who went 3-for-4 at the plate and scored 2 runs.
